It sounds like you have the experience, it’s just the packaging of how you get your name out there. If you’re looking for full-time work, I’d recommend creating a website with client testimonials and key projects, being as specific as possible about the role you played and the overall outcome.

It is important to make sure that you are constantly reconnecting with people and maintaining the relationships that you have built over the years working on so many different projects. Talk to your peers, young and old, about the roles that they are doing, this will probably give you some direction.

You don’t always have to mention your age if you think it could be a contributing factor. However, things like a website or a well detailed up-to-date CV are very important and should be adjusted depending on the jobs you are applying for. Not so much your LinkedIn, but being active on LinkedIn and sharing your work is also essential.

Outside of talking to recruiters and cold calling through applications and applying for jobs, I would recommend looking into things like networking groups in your industry – maybe get involved in a music week. Go to events, meet as many people as you can. Look into things like The Dots for events, or It’s Nice That’s monthly event series, Nicer Tuesdays.
