As a Data Scientist Manager In the Machine Learning department, you will have the opportunity to lead a high-performance team responsible for developing Moneylion’s next-generation machine learning algorithms behind MoneyLion’s data-driven products. You will lead research initiatives and experiment with advanced machine learning techniques to solve challenging business problems ranging from fraud and credit underwriting to financial recommendations and content categorization. This will involve driving technology innovation across a wide range of domains while consistently delivering measurable business value and demonstrating accelerated team performance. You will extend your influence to Product, AI Engineers, MLOps, and Data Scientists to pioneer additional opportunities for application of machine learning solutions. You will establish and enforce model governance standards across AI projects, ensure trust in the integrity of deployed models, and push the boundaries of machine learning in finance at MoneyLion.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and execution of the full machine learning lifecycle, from research and development to validation, deployment, and post-production
• Create a roadmap for machine learning projects and design it with well-defined success metrics in mind.
• Ensure delivery of machine learning systems according to the roadmap and with exceptional quality
• Provide leadership in devising and innovating advanced techniques from the literature to improve the performance of existing solutions
• Work with company leadership and stakeholders to drive adoption of machine learning models, identify and remove roadblocks, while minimizing risks to the business and the team.
• Define and promote best practices and model development policies to ensure feasibility, generalizability, and stability of models, and ensure that comprehensive documentation and diagrams are maintained.
• Establish and define frameworks to ensure robust development of the machine learning codebase, enabling maintainable and continuous improvements with measurable business impact.

About you

• Demonstrable experience in leading data science teams with a strong focus on success metrics
• Experience owning, building, and validating machine learning systems in production
• Hands-on experience with deep learning, computer vision and NLP projects
• Proficient in machine learning libraries and frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, Keras
• Proficient in programming languages ​​such as Python and SQL
• Strong knowledge of data structures, data modeling and software architecture
• In-depth knowledge of probability, statistics, distributions and analysis methods
• Have a strong product/business orientation
