Man dead, Omaha teen injured in Monday night crash

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man was killed and a teenager was injured in a crash in Omaha Monday night.

Officers were called to a crash at the intersection of Blair High Road and State Street between a red Chevrolet Equinox and a white Honda CRV around 8:50 p.m.

A report shows the Equinox was traveling northbound on Blair High Road when it collided with the Honda CRV, which was traveling eastbound on State St.

Authorities suspect the Equinox ignored a traffic light, leading to the crash.

One of the drivers, Lowell F. Wiese of Randolph, NE, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other driver, a 17-year-old from Omaha, suffered minor injuries but is expected to survive.

The incident is under investigation.
