Louisville volleyball vs Wisconsin, Kentucky vs Nebraska scores

The college volleyball season concludes in December at the KFC Yum! Center.

Will Louisville, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Nebraska be among the Final Four teams? Some might make it, but there are no guarantees.

The perennial powers kick off the season today in Louisville at the AVCA First Serve Showcase.

The Wildcats play the Cornhuskers today at 7 p.m., followed by the Cardinals and Badgers around 9 p.m.

The teams ranked in the top 10 of the AVCA preseason rankings are Nebraska (2), Wisconsin (3), Louisville (6) and Kentucky (9).

This is Dani Busboom Kelly’s eighth season with the Cardinals. Under her leadership, the Cardinals have advanced to two Final Fours, four Elite Eights, and won four ACC titles.

Wildcats coach Craig Skinner enters his 20th season with a record of 445-147.

He is the Wildcats’ all-time winningest coach and the first SEC volleyball coach to lead his team to an NCAA title.

Nebraska records its first win of the 2024 season in four sets against Kentucky, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20.

The Cornhuskers recorded six blocks and 13 digs in the third set, winning the set 25-15.

After a slow start in the second set, the Wildcats won the set 25-22. DeLeye had 10 kills in straight sets and Emma Grome had 22 assists.

We’re tied at 16 after two straight kills from Kentucky’s Brooklyn DeLeye.

The Cornhuskers took a 10-4 lead over the Wildcats in the second set.

Nebraska went on an 8-2 run to close out the first set of the AVCA First Serve Showcase. Merritt Beason and Lindsay Krause combined for nine kills to lead the Cornhuskers to a 25-21 victory.
