Cowboys sign Dalvin Cook, according to RB agency

The Dallas Cowboys are signing veteran running back Dalvin Cook, his agency told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal comes a day after Cook visited the Cowboys, whose 53-man roster already includes three running backs.

Cook, 29, played 15 games for the Jets last season and rushed for 214 yards on 3.2 yards per attempt.

The four-time Pro Bowler also joined the Ravens in January and ran for 23 yards in Baltimore’s playoff win over the Houston Texans.

Cook joins the Cowboys running backs, which also includes Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn and fullback Hunter Luepke.

Cook’s 5,238 rushing yards over the past five seasons are the fourth-most in the NFL during that span, ahead of Elliott and trailing only Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs and Nick Chubb.

Cook, a second-round draft pick of the Vikings in 2017, is the third-leading rusher in Minnesota franchise history. He had four consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons from 2019-2022 with the Vikings.
