Roddy White May Have Posted the Dumbest Tweet of the College Football Season

We hadn’t even played the first set of games on the first full Saturday of the 2024 season when someone decided to shoot down the early favorite for “Dumbest Tweet of the American Football Season.”

Most people would save a dumb tweet for later this year, but former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White wanted to make sure he had at least one contender on the board early this year.

White apparently watched the Georgia-Clemson game, which ended with a convincing 34-3 victory for the Bulldogs. But before that game was even finalized, he sent his challenger for this season’s title packing.

Roddy White, everybody!

Believe it or not, this isn’t even in the zip code for the dumbest tweet of his illustrious career as a dumb tweeter…

He tweeted this so early in the season that we might have to investigate. It feels like it’s been sitting in his drafts folder since early summer, where he’s been fine-tuning it for a few weeks to make sure it’s as dumb as possible.

That goes against the spirit of competition.

It certainly didn’t help the Clemson Tigers that they had to start the season against one of the best teams in college football. And especially in the NIL era, there can always be a recruiting problem.

But to diagnose that based on the race of the players? That’s just stupid.

This tweet is also perfect for playing everyone’s favorite game…

(*Crowd in unison*) Would! This! Fly! If! You! Trade! The! Races!

I think we can all do a little bit of thinking in our heads to see whether or not this would work, and the answer is a resounding no.

It will be interesting to see if Roddy White’s tweet holds up as the season progresses, or if he decides to post a second tweet, which seems very possible given his track record, or if someone else challenges this early favorite for “Dumbest Tweet of the College Football Season.”
