Passenger Removed From Delta Flight For Trump And Hawk Tuah Girl Meme T-Shirt: ‘I’m Getting Kicked Out…’

A man was reportedly removed from a Delta Airlines flight for wearing a T-shirt featuring former President Donald Trump giving the middle finger, along with a reference to the viral Hawk Tuah girl. Video posted to a Reddit group showed the man being removed from the plane at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Saturday, August 31.

Man thrown off plane over Trump meme T-shirt

The video was posted by the Reddit group r/delta of the incident. The video showed the man wearing a black t-shirt with Trump wearing sunglasses in the colors of the American flag. Trump’s image showed him holding up his middle fingers and the top of the t-shirt read: “Hawk Tuah spit on that thang,” a reference to the sensational Hawk Tuah meme video.

In the video from the plane, the man announced, “I’m getting kicked out because of my shirt,” as he walked down the aisle and exited the plane with his luggage. The man continued, “And this is her report — stupid Wendy,” as he read the flight attendant who escorted him to the plane’s exit.

According to poster SKBeachGirl, the flight attendant approached the man while he was waiting to board. The flight attendant asked the man to change his shirt or he would be removed from the flight because someone had complained about the clothing. The man turned the shirt inside out, wore it that way, and everyone boarded.

They wrote: “The next thing I know, just before takeoff, a Delta employee comes on board and escorts him off the plane. He had turned his shirt back to the side with the decals,” the New York Post reported.

Can an airline throw a passenger off a plane because of his/her clothing?

Delta’s Contract of Carriage states: “Delta may, in its sole discretion, for the comfort or safety of the passenger, for the comfort or safety of other passengers or Delta employees, or to prevent damage to the property of Delta or its passengers or employees, remove passengers from its flights to transport passengers when it deems it necessary.”

Any passenger can be asked to leave the flight if their “conduct, dress, hygiene or odor creates an unreasonable risk of offense or annoyance to other passengers,” among other behavioral circumstances. Earlier this year, another passenger was on the verge of being ejected from Delta Airlines when she tried to board without wearing a bra.
