Tyreek Hill Shocked by Xavier Worthy’s First Chiefs TD

The Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time getting new wide receiver Xavier Worthy acclimated to the NFL regular season.

On their first offensive drive of the 2024 season, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid inserted a backup wide receiver into the red zone for the rookie wideout, who ran the ball 21 yards for a rushing touchdown.

Worthy’s speed was on full display in primetime, wowing fans and scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine earlier this season. The rookie wide receiver’s quick scoring caught the attention of former Chiefs and current Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

Hill posted a message on Twitter/X after Worthy made his first NFL touchdown: “That boy is rolling, oh my god.”

The former Chiefs receiver knows a thing or two about speed, as he is one of the fastest players in the NFL. Hill impressed fans in Kansas City for years with his game-breaking speed, which led to big plays in the passing game.

That said, Chiefs fans are hoping Worthy can follow in Hill’s footsteps and become a real threat to Kansas City’s offense heading into next season.

In his senior year at the University of Texas, the 5-foot-11 wide receiver had 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns. In his three-year career with the Longhorns, Worthy averaged 14 yards per reception.

If Worthy can replicate that in his rookie season, Chiefs fans and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be happy. Still, you couldn’t ask for a better start if you’re Worthy.
