Paris 2024 Paralympic Games | Para Equestrian: Versailles bids farewell to the Games with music

It’s been almost a month and a half since the first Olympic event was held in Palace of Versailles on July 27th. On this Saturday, September 7th, the Para-equestrian freestyle events with musical performances mark the end of an exceptionally sporting summer in Versailles.

The competition location at the Palace of Versailles is unique. Nestled in the lush gardensfar from the city, riders and their horses take the stage in this serene setting. While the Paris 2024 Games were marked by passionate crowds, the atmosphere in Versailles was different. Supporters adapted by waving their hands in the air instead of clapping, creating a calm environment. Between events, spectators expressed their joy with cheers, dancing and applause.

Music was central to today’s events. From classical to contemporary, and even original compositions, a wide range of musical styles filled VersaillesSome riders added personal touches, such as the Swedish Louise Etzner Jakobssonwho performed with ABBA, and the French Alexia Pittierwho chose “For me formidable” by Charles Aznavour.
