WASHOE VALLEY, Nev. (KRNV) — A wildfire broke out near Davis Creek Regional Park in Washoe Valley on Saturday afternoon.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting with evacuations in the Winters Creek area due to the fire.

The fire covers approximately 1.2 hectares and several fire brigades are on site.

I580 is closed northbound at Bellevue in Washoe Valley and southbound at Mt. Rose Highway due to the wildfire.

Avoid traveling on the freeway between Reno and Carson City.

The public is urged to avoid the area and remain alert for emergency services arriving on the scene.
