GREENSBORO, NC (FOX Carolina) – The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office reported Saturday that a Clemson player was shot and killed.

Officers said they responded to a home on Spring Mill Rd. around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for a noise complaint.

On the way, the officers were told that shots had been fired into the house.

According to officers, the shooting victim was identified upon arrival as 26-year-old Diondre Overton.

Despite immediate medical attention, Overton was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

According to officers, this is an isolated incident, but there is still an ongoing murder investigation.
