Moss looked fantastic in the Trojans’ bowl game last year and he proved his performance was no fluke on Sunday night against the Tigers. Both he and LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier looked exceptional in the game and put on quite a show for college football fans across the country. It was without a doubt one of the best games for Week 1 of the 2024 college football season.

Moss played exceptionally, delivering strike after strike when it mattered most. He dropped this beautiful dime late in the fourth quarter to put the Trojans in position to make the game-winning touchdown run by Jo’Quavious Brands. Then there was another, when he dropped back to the 35-yard line and hit a beautiful spiral to where only Ja’Kobi Lane could get him. The 28-yard touchdown strike put the Trojans ahead with 5:44 left in the fourth quarter.

During the game-winning drive, Moss completed five of six passes for 56 yards, putting the Trojans in position for the game-winning score. His performance was exceptional, but USC head coach Lincoln Riley deserves a lot of credit for his brilliant play calling throughout the game. Both offensive coaches on both teams did a masterful job of calling some beautifully executed plays throughout the night.

The play of the evening and one of the best plays of the 2024 American football season came when Kyron Hudson pulled off an insanely acrobatic one-handed grabThe incredible catch set social media alight. It will go down as one of the best plays of the season. It will be fascinating to see if anyone can top it, but it will be really, really hard.

Moss will be an intriguing quarterback to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season given Lincoln Riley’s history of producing top-tier quarterbacks and highly explosive offensive numbers.
