College Football Week 2 Scores, Results: Oregon Beats Boise State With Last-Second Field Goal

The first top 10 race of the season was a big defeat, but on Saturday we still got our first big surprise of the season.

No. 5 Notre Dame was crushed 16-14 at home by Northern Illinois. The Huskies went down for a 35-yard field goal by Kanon Woodill with just over 30 seconds left in the game, then blocked the Irish’s own attempt to win it as time expired.

In Saturday’s key showdown, No. 3 Texas left no doubt as to which team would take on No. 10 Michigan, defeating the Wolverines 31-12 in the Big House.

Elsewhere, No. 17 Kansas State survived Tulane after a controversial finish and No. 16 Oklahoma State came back to beat Arkansas in double overtime.

In the evening period, Colorado was blown out in the first half by Nebraska before settling for a 28-10 loss, No. 4 Alabama struggled for three quarters before putting the jets on late against USF and No. 14 Tennessee blew out No. 24 NC State. Then Oregon eked out a win in the nightcap with a last-second field goal.
