Woman shot in north Lincoln; police searching for shooter

Police on scene at 33rd and Holdrege.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was shot late Saturday night in north Lincoln.

Police said they were called to 33rd and Holdrege Streets around 11:30 p.m.

Officers found a 20-year-old Lincoln woman suffering from gunshot wounds.

She was taken to hospital but is in stable condition, police said.

Around the time of the shooting, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln posted a warning about a man with a gun at the intersection, which is next to East Campus.

The man was dressed entirely in black, the university said.

Police say they are looking for the shooter, but do not believe there is any danger to the public.

Officers investigated both gas stations at the intersection.

Barrier tape was put up around the Caseys.
