Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was cited for reckless driving after he was stopped, detained and handcuffed by police on Sunday as he headed into Hard Rock Stadium for his team’s game against the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has been released and is expected to play in the game, which starts at 10 a.m. (Arizona time).

Hill was pulled over for speeding and subsequently got into a verbal altercation with the officer. According to ESPN, Hill’s officer, Drew Rosenhaus, was in Hill’s car with him at the time of the incident.

“This morning, Tyreek Hill was stopped for a traffic incident approximately one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police,” the Dolphins said in a statement. “He has since been released. Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer support. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”

Hill, 30, is a five-time first-team All-Pro and eight-time Pro Bowl selection. He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards last season and tied for the league lead with 13 touchdown receptions and 119 catches. He won a Super Bowl as a member of the Chiefs in 2020.
