Josh Palmer and Jack Jones sent off after Raiders-Chargers fight

A fight between the Chargers and Raiders led to two Los Angeles players being ejected in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

The fight broke out after attempting two conversions, with the Chargers leading by 12 points near the end of the game. Chargers wide receiver Josh Palmer and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones were participating in extracurricular activities.

Tempers quickly flared and it looked like blows were about to be exchanged as the two teams faced off.

Coaches and officials tried to regain control of the situation.

The situation seemed to improve as quickly as it started, with Palmer and Jones being ejected from the Week 1 game.

The two were the only ones kicked out of the game as a result of the conflict, despite a large number of players stepping in to calm things down before it got too far out of hand.

The Chargers won the game 22-10.

Jones is in his first full season with the Raiders after they claimed him off waivers last November, allowing him to play in the final seven games of the season in Las Vegas.

In the 2023 season, he made 37 total tackles, plus five passes defensed and two interceptions.

Palmer had 15 receiving yards on two catches before being told to take a shower. He entered this season with a 2023 campaign cut short by a knee injury.

The AFC West teams will play each other again this season, with the second game scheduled for Week 18 in Las Vegas.
