There are few players in the NFL who live up to their nickname more than New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner. And while he had to earn his nickname with his teammates and coaches, it quickly stuck after an incredible rookie season.

In his first year with the Jets, the Cincinnati product partnered with Buffalo Wild Wings – a pairing that could hardly have been more perfect.

Gardner got his own sauce in 2022, as “Sauce Sauce” was created based on the cornerback’s love of barbecue and hot sauce. According to BWW’s press release about the sauce, it was described as “a smoky, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce that intercepts your taste buds and takes it home with you on your favorite wings and sandwiches.”

And now, sauce (and gravy) lovers have the chance to score a free bottle of sauce. Buffalo Wild Wings has introduced a Gardner Claw Machine, allowing fans to score their own free bottle of the cornerback’s spicy sauce.

Currently, the promotion is only valid at the Buffalo Wild Wings GO location at 455 Park Ave S. in Manhattan (while supplies last).

The new machine also seemed to be a surprise for Gardner.

The Jets cornerback took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his surprise at the promotion and encouraged his New York fans to visit the location for a chance to win a bottle of Sauce sauce for themselves.

Whether the Wing franchise will add more claw machine locations (or perhaps some other “secret sauce”) remains to be seen. But with this kind of reach, anything is possible in the future.
