TRUMP IS INDICTED

According to observers, something has visibly changed in Trump’s campaign since Biden withdrew from the race.

“Trump is clearly feeling a little more desperate than he was in June and July. He’s put a lot of different policy proposals on the table — it’s almost like whiplash,” said Kyle Kondik, managing editor of Sabato’s Crystal Ball, a political newsletter from the University of Virginia Center for Politics.

The big age issue has also put Trump at a disadvantage.

Now that Biden (82) is no longer in the race, Trump will become the oldest US president ever if he wins the election.

On the debate stage, his 78 years will likely be a stark contrast to Harris’s 59.

However, DeAngelis said Harris will likely focus more on Trump’s criminal cases and the controversial issues that have arisen from his presidency than on his age.

Vice President Harris was a prosecutor and former attorney general of California while Trump was president between 2017 and 2021, and a businessman and media personality. He is also the first person to run for the White House as a convicted felon.

“She’s really trying to create a contrast between what we’ve seen from Trump for four years — and even the four years that he’s been out of office — and her vision for the future … I think she’s going to try to make that case against him right from the beginning,” DeAngelis said.

Both campaigns have agreed that the candidates’ microphones will remain muted while the other is speaking, meaning there will be no interruptions.

“You have two candidates who are very similar in their approach to debates. They both like to get under the other person’s skin … so I expect this to be a very exciting debate,” said Belt of George Washington University.
