Demi Moore humorously revealed the reason behind her single status on Monday while promoting The Substance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The 61-year-old actress beamed in a sleeveless pink dress and spoke highly of her little dog Pilaf, calling her a “magical creature.”

Demi proudly shared that Pilaf was recently on the cover of ‘Dogue’ magazine and explained how that came about.

“Vogue did a ‘Dogue Days of Summer’ and of course she had to be the cover girl,” Demi said.

Jimmy, 49, shared an adorable video of Demi’s dogs waiting for her to come home and asked Demi if she had slept with her dogs.

“If anyone saw my nighttime routine, if it was filmed, they would really see how eccentric I really am,” she admitted. “I have to put pillows down so the pillows this size can go under the covers. I have two beds for the little ones, so they have the bed in the bed.”

“Okay, I sleep with dogs,” Demi admitted.

The audience laughed as Demi described her routine and Jimmy noted that she takes good care of them.

“That’s why I’m single,” Demi joked.

Demi was previously married to Freddy Moore from 1981 to 1985 and was also married to Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000. She married Ashton Kutcher in 2005 and they divorced in 2013.

In the 1980s, she also had a high-profile engagement to Emilio Estevez and an affair with Jon Cryer.

Jimmy noted that critics are hailing Demi’s performance in The Substance as the best of her long and illustrious career.

The Substance will be in theaters in the US and UK on September 20.
