The Pirates of the Caribbean star attended the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 11 to introduce his longtime partner, who received this year’s Video Vanguard Award for her numerous iconic music videos.

“Sign it up for our newest Video Vanguard, Katherine Hudson“, Bloom said onstage at New York’s UBS Arena, referring to the singer’s birth name, before adding: “Katy Perry!”

“You fell in love with her as Katy Perry, I fell in love with her as Katheryn Hudson,” he added. “You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and her unique sense of humor into every song she writes and every music video she makes.”

Bloom went on to praise the Grammy winner’s role as mother to their 4-year-old daughter Daisy.

“I know her as a mother, as a partner who brings the same sense of love and joy to our family,” the 47-year-old enthused. “She loves us with all her heart and that is irresistible. Congratulations on this honorable baby, I am so proud of you.”
