In A Violent Nature review

First of all, In a violent nature is the second best alternative to a new Friday the 13th film, a unique slasher told from the perspective of the Jason-esque killer. It is now streaming on Shudder.

In the film, “When a medallion is removed from a collapsed wooded watchtower containing the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific crime 60 years ago, his body is brought back to life and he becomes determined to retrieve it. The undead golem targets the group of vacationing teenagers responsible for the theft and begins methodically slaughtering them one by one in his mission to get it back—along with anyone who stands in his way.”

Chris Nash wrote and directed In a violent nature. Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, Cameron Love, Reece Presley, Liam Leone, Charlotte Creaghan, Lea Rose Sebastianis, Sam Roulston, Alexander Oliver, And Lauren Taylor star in the slasher film.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her Sundance review for Bloody Disgusting: “In a violent nature may offer slasher thrills and deliciously gory wilderness destruction, but Nash’s approach captures the carnage with ambient realism. The result is a fascinating arthouse horror experiment that plays more like a minimalist slice-of-life film with a grim twist.”

The Crow

After failing to become a box office success a few weeks ago, Lionsgate’s The Crow starring Bill Skarsgard (IT) can be seen on PVOD at home from today.

The Crow is now available for purchase for $24.99 and to rent for $19.99 (for a 48-hour period) on participating digital platforms where films are purchased.

Based on the iconic graphic novel, The Crow tells the dark love story of Eric and Shelly, and the lengths you go to for someone you love. Directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), The Crow stars Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs (award-winning singer-songwriter), and Danny Huston (The constant gardener).

“Soul mates Eric (Skarsgård) and Shelly (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. When Eric is given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, he sets out to exact ruthless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to right the wrongs.”

Zach Baylin (King Richard) And Will Schneider wrote the script, with the new film of course based on the original graphic novel by James O’Barr, which was the inspiration for an earlier film franchise.

Runny nose

Writer/Director Maria Dautermanhis feature film debut as a director, Runny nosepromises to take audiences on a grossly sweet journey. It is now available on VOD outlets from Dark Sky Films.

“After Booger, her deceased friend’s cat, runs away, Anna (Grace Glowicki) becomes desperate to find him, while ignoring the fact that her life (and body) are falling apart. A psychedelic, grotesque and unexpectedly funny film about grief and the indescribable depth of female friendships, Runny nose offers a shocking mix of genres with confidence and deep emotional impact.”

“Booger is a sickening comedy about grief. Or a body horror that’s funny and sad. Or a tragedy that makes you laugh and makes you squirm,” says writer/director Dauterman of her film. “It’s the nuanced story I wanted to tell about the joy of friendship, the pain of loss, and the dizzying search for your core after a crisis.”

Garrick Bernard (Single drunk woman), Marcia DeBonis (Sometimes I think about dying, 13 Going on 30), Sofia Dobrushin (WeCrashed), and cult film and horror favorite Heath Matarazzo (Welcome to the dollhouse, Scream) play the leading role together with Glowicki.

The chilling Danish horror film Speak no evil is getting a remake in the United States from Blumhouse and Universal and is now showing exclusively in theaters.

James Watkins (The Woman in Black, Eden Lake) is a director Speak no evil for Blumhouse and Universal, with Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Happiest Season) And James McAvoy (Split, Glass) set to star. Scoot McNairy (Argo) will also play a leading role.

In the remake, “When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream vacation quickly turns into a complicated psychological nightmare.”

James Watkins also wrote the script for the Speak no evil to recreate.

Directed by Christian Tafdrup, the original Speak no evil was selected by Bloody Disgusting as one of the 12 best international horror films of 2022. Daniel Kurland raved about the deeply disturbing Danish nightmare: “This claustrophobic character study eerily explores the nature of evil and the chilling realization that there doesn’t always have to be a reason for evil. Speak no evil feels like the twisted Danish cousin of Barbarian and every tense moment of silence feels like it could evolve into an entirely different kind of horror.”
