Hello! 19-Year-Old Phenomenon Raul Rosas Jr. Sets Retirement Date for UFC 306 at The Sphere

19-year-old bantamweight phenom Raul Rosas Jr., who made his mark on Dana White’s “Contender Series” in late 2022 as a minor, is looking to overtake Jon Jones and become the youngest UFC champion in history.

“I just want to fulfill my dreams, which is to be the youngest UFC champion, have the belt, defend the belt a couple times and probably retire,” Rosas Jr. told ESPN MMA. “Hopefully at 25, my career will be over and I can enjoy time with my family and whatever I decide to do. I feel like I’m on the right track.”

Hopefully he has the energy to keep it up that long, bro.

“This is my chance now,” Rosas Jr. continued. “This fight on Saturday is going to put me in a really good position with four wins in the UFC and four finishes. Right now I’m focused on that and whatever happens, I’ll be ready. After this fight I can get a big name, maybe a Top 15 or a good name, a good test.”

To do so, Rosas Jr. will have to get past the rugged Aoriqileng on this Saturday night’s (Sept. 14, 2024) UFC 306 “Prelims” card at The Sphere in Las Vegas, a win that could earn him a Top 15 bantamweight opponent in early 2025.
