Brock Purdy’s first road game of the season comes against a team that can give any quarterback a headache. Brian Flores and the Minnesota Vikings felt like they blew their cover last week against the New York Giants when they sat back and played coverage.

But we know that Flores doesn’t work that way, and his true colors should come out today. The 49ers offensive line did an exceptional job last week, as did the tight ends and running backs, in holding Purdy up. Today will be a tougher challenge, but the results from a week ago were promising.

In a similar vein, Sam Darnold overperformed last week and is due for some regression. The question is whether the 49ers can pressure him as much as the Giants did. That, and whether they can make Darnold uncomfortable, hold on to the ball, and make Darnold-like decisions.

Early turnovers could be decisive in this game.
