Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is an upcoming documentary about the life of the eponymous actor, who rose to fame for his role as Superman in the 1970s and 1980s films.

Rather than debuting on streaming, the film will get a theatrical release. As the directors point out, for many, their relationship with Reeve and Superman was forged on the big screen, and any document of Reeve’s life had to be told with cinematic intent. It turned out to be a vision championed by new DC chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran, who were “passionate about giving it a theatrical life” when they saw the film shortly after its Sundance premiere.
