Slow development is possible through the middle of next week as winds slowly shift to the north or northwest across the northwestern Caribbean Sea or southeastern Gulf of Mexico.

According to the NHC, the chance that the disruption will develop in the next two days is virtually zero, and the chance that it will develop in the coming week is 20 percent.

FOX 13 meteorologist Dave Osterberg said the low pressure area, the Central America Gyre, forms in early fall in the western Caribbean and historically stimulates tropical activity.

“Based on the way the atmosphere is set up, it would probably be pulled into the Gulf,” Osterberg said. “That’s all the information we have. That’s all the information anyone has at this point.”
