Is YFN Lucci Still Alive? Rapper’s Lawyer Clears Up Social Media Hoax

American rapper and singer YFN-Lucci is alive and well, despite rumors that he was murdered in prison.

The hoax quickly spread across various social media platforms and blogs, a practice that social media creators and managers typically employ to increase engagement and appeal to fans’ emotions.

Drew Findling, Lucci’s attorney, debunked the hoax and confirmed to TMZ that Lucci is not dead.

Findling represented Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, at his January trial, which resulted in a 10-year prison sentence.

Lucci was charged in 2021 with murder, assault and racketeering as part of a wide-ranging indictment targeting a group of 12 people known as the alleged Blood gang.

According to investigators, Bennett and the other members committed a wide range of crimes to protect the gang’s reputation and maintain control of the territory.

The rapper pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.

As part of the sentence, Bennett agreed to a 10-year prison sentence, followed by an additional 10 years of probation.

His legal team’s statement to PEOPLE read: “As he has maintained for three years now, Mr. Bennett will NOT cooperate with any other case. By entering into this resolution, he will be eligible for parole in four months.”

Fans were quick to point out that there was fake news in all the sources claiming the rapper was dead

Some users on TikTok claimed that Lucci had died after suffering a gunshot wound to his torso, prompting reactions from his fans.

“This has to be fake, just like why they say YFN Lucci is dead,” reads the caption of a fan video.

Others on Facebook expressed similar sentiments when a news site reported on the hoax.

“You all need to be CHARGED!!! This is ridiculous,” one said, while another added: “That man is not dead.”
