Patriots vs. Jets predictions & live updates: NFL Thursday Night Football, how to watch, time, odds & latest news

The already struggling Patriots will be without the left wing of their front five tonight, but they did receive some good news before the game.

While left tackle Vederian Lowe (knee) and left guard Sidy Sow (ankle) were ruled out, starting right tackle Mike Onwenu was cleared to play after being questionable due to a wrist injury.

Without Lowe, rookie Caedan Wallace, the team’s third overall pick this spring, is expected to make his first career starting position at left tackle.

The offensive line is the Patriots’ biggest storyline two weeks into the season, after their struggles have left Jacoby Brissett constantly trying to evade rushers. Heading into tonight’s game, the Patriots’ offensive line ranks second in pressure percentage, at 44 percent of the time. Meanwhile, the Jets rank third in pressure percentage, according to TruMedia. So an already tough matchup for the Patriots’ offensive line is made even tougher with two starters up front.

The Patriots also gave cornerback Marco Wilson a healthy scratch after he struggled in coverage last week. The upside for them is that all four players they listed as questionable to play — Onwenu (wrist), Jabrill Peppers (shoulder), Deatrich Wise (shoulder) and David Andrews (hip) — are playing.
