Big Ten Announces 2024-25 Conference Schedule – University of Nebraska

Lincoln – Nebraska will be tested early and often as the Big Ten Conference announced the 2024-25 men’s basketball schedule on Thursday afternoon.

The Huskers’ 20-game slate begins with a pair of traditional powerhouses with December matchups against Michigan State on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Indiana on Friday, Dec. 13. The opener against Michigan State will mark the eighth time in the last nine seasons that Nebraska has opened Big Ten Conference play away. The Big Ten home opener against Indiana will mark the fourth time the two schools have met in December since 2019, but the first December matchup in Lincoln.

The January home schedule begins with one of the most anticipated games of the year, as the Huskers host UCLA on Saturday, Jan. 4. It’s UCLA’s first trip to Lincoln since the 1955-56 season and their first meeting as Big Ten teams. Other home highlights in January include Rutgers (Jan. 16), a team that holds two of the top three picks in ESPN.com’s NBA Draft board, USC’s first visit as a Big Ten member (Jan. 22) and a matchup with Big Ten Tournament champion Illinois (Jan. 30). NU’s away schedule this month includes trips to NCAA runner-up Purdue (Jan. 12), Iowa (Jan. 7), Maryland (Jan. 19) and Wisconsin (Jan. 26).

Nebraska has three home games in February, including a Super Bowl Sunday game against Ohio State (Feb. 9) and games against Maryland (Feb. 13) and Michigan (Feb. 24). The Huskers also make their first West Coast swing that month, visiting Oregon (Feb. 2) and Washington (Feb. 5), as well as games at Northwestern (Feb. 16) and Penn State (Feb. 19).

The Huskers close out the season by hosting two of their final three games at Pinnacle Bank Arena. NU hosts Minnesota (March 1) and Iowa (March 9) with a trip to Ohio State on March 4 in between. The game against Iowa is the Huskers’ Senior Day and the final regular-season game before the 2025 Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis from March 12-16.

Start times and network designations for all Big Ten and non-conference games are expected to be announced later this month.

Season tickets for the 2023-24 season start at $153 and can be purchased by visiting Huskers.com/Tickets or by calling the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office at 800-8-BIGRED during business hours (9 a.m.-4 p.m., Mon-Fri). Additionally, student season tickets are also available for purchase for UNL students. For more information on purchasing student tickets, visit Huskers.com/students.

The Huskers return three starters from a team that went 23-11 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014. Seniors Brice Williams and Juwan Gary bolster the Huskers’ offense, which returns seven letterwinners and adds seven transfers for Big Ten Coach of the Year Fred Hoiberg next season.
