Sony’s latest PlayStation livestream has come to an end, and we’ve rounded up all the news and trailers from today’s event. September’s Sony State of Play focused on updates on upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games, plus we got a look at how the PlayStation 5 Pro is improving games.

Ghost of Tsushima 2 Announced as Ghost of Yotei

Perhaps the biggest announcement from the show today was that the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima will arrive in 2025. The new game will be called Ghost of Yotei and will focus on a new protagonist, Atsu. The announcement trailer gave us a pretty good look at what to expect from Sucker Punch’s upcoming game.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Announced

We’ve got official confirmation that Horizon Zero Dawn is being remastered for the PS5. Anyone who owns the PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version when it launches for $9.99. The remaster is set to arrive on October 31, 2024, and will feature 10 hours of rerecorded dialogue and visual enhancements.

Monster Hunter Wilds release date announced

Monster Hunter Wilds officially launches on February 28, 2025. The newest addition to the Monster Hunter series will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The new trailer we included above also showed off new monsters.

Astro Bot DLC Announced for Fall 2024

Astro Bot launched on PS5 earlier this month and we gave it a sparkling 9 out of 10 review. The game is getting free DLC sometime in Fall 2025, adding five new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots to the rescue.

The Midnight Walk announced

From the makers of Lost in Random comes a claymation-style game with some Tim Buron-esque art. We don’t have a release date for The Midnight Walk yet, but you can play it on PS VR 2 or PS5.

Hell Is Us Gets New Gameplay Trailer

The new trailer for Hell Is Us showed off another horror game that looks a bit like a soulslike game. It features sword fights, a shoulder-mounted drone, and doesn’t have a release date for PlayStation yet. This game will also be released on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Palworld is out today on PS5

If you were hoping to play Palworld on your PS5, now you can! While the Pokemon-esque game is currently in a legal battle with Nintendo and the Pokemon Company, it has officially come to Playstation.

Metro Awakening VR releases November 7

The upcoming VR game, Metro Awakening, has received a new trailer and is set to release on November 7, 2024.

Archeage Chronicles is coming in 2025

We have a new trailer for Archeage Chronicles, an upcoming soulslike game with a medieval setting and big scary bosses. The land of Auroria awaits you!

Lunar Remastered Collection Announced for 2025

A remastered collection of the Lunar games has been officially announced for spring 2025. The collection will feature improved graphics and widescreen support.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge Radical Reptiles DLC is free and out now

A new TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge DLC was announced today and is already out! The new content is currently available to download for free, complete with a remixed soundtrack.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is coming in December

PlayStation accidentally leaked earlier today that Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 remastered will be released on December 10, 2024. The remaster will come with enhanced visuals for PS5 and PS4 and will be released on the 25th anniversary of the original’s release. These remasters will also be released on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded coming in December

Another PS VR2 game on the way is Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded, due out in December 2024. The game features full dual wield and supports various hand gestures. You can check out the latest trailer above.

Fantasia Neo Dimension is out on December 5th

The upcoming RPG, Fantasian Neo Dimension, is coming to PS5 on December 5th. It’s a tactical game from the creators of Final Fantasy.

Keanu Reeves will star in a Sonic x Shadow Generations DLC

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to hit theaters later this year, but before that happens, his voice will be featured in the upcoming DLC ​​for Sonic x Shadow Generations.

LEGO Horizon Adventures releases November 14

The upcoming LEGO and Horizon collaboration is coming to PS5 and PC on November 14, 2024. The new game is officially available for pre-order on October 3, and we’ll see if it lands on our list of the best LEGO games.

Early access to Towers of Aghasba announced

Upcoming city-building game Towers of Aghasba was announced for early access during September’s State of Play. The game will be available to play on PS5 from November 2024.

Fear the Spotlight Gets a New Trailer

Fear the Spotlight is a PS1-inspired horror game from Blumhouse. With a cozy aesthetic and pixelated visuals, you can enjoy this new horror title from October 22nd. It will also be available on Xbox consoles when it arrives.

Alan Wake II: Lake House Expansion Revealed

We got a sneak peek at the new DLC expansion for Alan Wake 2. The Lake House DLC will be released in October 2024 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

New PS5 controller colors announced

While games were the biggest highlight of the show, Sony also announced a new line of PS5 Dualsense controllers. The Chroma Collection of accessories includes Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Teal, available for pre-order starting in October. Dynasty Warriors: Origins is coming in January 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on January 17, 2025. A new trailer revealed alongside the release date shows off gameplay for the upcoming game, as well as some combat.

More games confirm PS5 Pro support

PS5 Pro architect Mark Cerny provided an update on some of the games that will feature PS5 Pro support today on State of Play. The list included Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Metal Gear Solid Delta.

PlayStation Plus Monthly Games Announced for October 2024

In addition to the other reveals from the show, PlayStation also revealed its lineup of games coming to PlayStation Plus games in October 2024. The new additions include WWE 2K24 and Dead Space, both of which we reviewed very positively.
