    Danny Amendola went into the “Danger Zone” with a “Top Gun”-inspired dance on last night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

    The former New England Patriots wide receiver danced in the show’s second round last night, after no elimination took place during last week’s premiere.

    This week, all the stars performed a song from a popular Hollywood movie during Oscars Night.

    Amendola and his professional partner Witney Carson danced a jive to a hit from “Top Gun” and he honored his late grandfather, who was a veteran, with the dance.

    Danny Amendola and his partner Witney Carson danced a jive to Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” from “Top Gun” for Oscars Night on “Dancing with the Stars” last night.

    The two-time Super Bowl winner said the film reminds him of his late grandfather, who served in the military.

    “This film is very close to my heart,” Amendola said. “When I saw the original at my grandfather’s house, he was in the military. He fought in World War II.”

    “If football didn’t work out, I’d go to the military,” Amendola added. “I have a lot of respect for those guys.”

    After his dance, the former wide receiver said he thought his grandfather would approve of his performance.

    “He definitely thought we were in the ‘danger zone,’” Amendola said.

    How did Danny Amendola score last night on ‘DWTS’?

    Danny Amendola scored 21/30 for his jive on “Dancing with the Stars” last night, with all three judges giving him a seven out of 10.

    Combined with his scores from the first week, Amendola’s total for both nights was 41/60. He finished fifth overall among the other stars.

    Who was eliminated from ‘DWTS’ last night?

    Last night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars” ended with a double elimination, sending former con artist Anna Delvey and actress Tori Spelling home.

    Elimination was determined by a combination of the judges’ scores from the first two weeks and viewer votes.

    “Dancing with the Stars” airs live Tuesday nights on ABC and Disney+. It is also available to stream the following day on Hulu.

    Who is Danny Amendola?

    Danny Amendola is a retired NFL wide receiver who played 13 seasons, including five with the New England Patriots. He won two Super Bowls with the team.

    He also played for the Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans before announcing his retirement in 2022.

    Since retiring from the NFL, the 38-year-old spent a season as an assistant coach for the Las Vegas Raiders. He also appeared on the military training show “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” in 2023.

    He is originally from The Woodlands, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech.
