WE MUST BE CONSISTENT

“We kept them alive, we were 1-0 up, controlled the game. You have to be consistent and keep going in the second half, we dropped back and gave the goal away. We didn’t finish it, we had to go for the second goal and so they (FC Twente) stayed alive and we are punished with a mistake of our own. We are very frustrated, yes.”

UNACCEPTABLE GOAL TO FORGIVE

“The goal, it’s (a) team (fault), a Twente player can dribble almost the entire field, or half the field, without stopping. That’s not acceptable, we can’t give away a goal like that. We’ve seen again that you have to keep going the entire match; once you’re 1-0 up, you have to keep going and look for the second (goal).”

WE NEEDED A WINNING START

“It’s the first game (in the Europa League), it’s very important to win. I’m not thinking about it at the moment (a draw is less damaging in the first game), I’m just thinking about the performance, what we need to improve and where we need to be more consistent. It’s about building good structures, creating chances to knock teams out.”
