Google Doodle celebrates classic popcorn with an interactive game

No movie experience is complete without popcorn, whether you watch it in the theater or from the comfort of your own home. From a 2am snack to our movie companion, popcorn deserves much more recognition than it gets. And today’s Google Doodle does just that: celebrate popcorn.
The update isn’t another animated doodle, but to make it exciting, Google has added one interactive gameThere is only one simple goal: “Don’t let yourself explode!” The game gives the player the option to play ‘solo’ or with your ‘squad’. And your competition is random players from all over the world. This game made Doodles history because it “allows the highest number of players to ever compete in a match at the same time!”
Popcorn has been a constant in the movie theater experience since the 20th century. It is prepared in minutes, is easily affordable and easy to prepare, which meant that sellers did not need any really expensive equipment to prepare it. But the best part is that it is not unhealthy like other snacks. As a whole grain, popcorn contains a lot of fiber, which is good for our digestion and also makes us feel full.
Popcorn was introduced to theaters to give them an economic boost. During the Great depressionAccording to reports, consumers started spending more on cheap luxury products such as cinema and popcorn. Seeing this pattern, the two industries merged, helping each other grow at the same time. Initially, few vendors were allowed to sell popcorn outside the theater, although they paid a daily allowance. However, in the 1940s, theaters started their own bleachers in the theater.
The classic buttered popcorn now has a few more variants, ranging from chocolate caramel to cheese popcorn. While some like new flavors, others prefer popcorn the old-fashioned way. Whatever your preference, popcorn is here to stay.
