Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has said he had no choice but to rotate his squad after making changes to his starting XI for Saturday’s match with Osasuna.

The German has left Lamine Yamal, Inigo Martinez and Raphinha on the bench for the match and started Pau Victor, Gerard Martin and Sergi Dominguez.

It’s a bold move from Flick, but he says his players really need some rest.

“The feeling is good, but we have to rotate. There are many games. Iñigo, Lamine and Raphinha have played a lot of minutes and need rest,” he told Movistar.

“It is true that we only have one experienced player in defense (Koundé), but we will see what happens, in training it is a pleasure to watch these players.

“El Sadar? I’m told the atmosphere in the stadium is great and we know Osasuna are pushing hard.”

Barcelona go into the match hoping to maintain their perfect start to the season by securing an eighth straight league win.
