Younghoe Koo’s 58-yard field goal with two seconds left in the game gave the Atlanta Falcons a 26-24 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 4. With the win, the Falcons and Saints are both 2-2 in the NFC South.

Alvin Kamara’s one-yard touchdown run with one minute remaining put the Saints on top, 24–23. That capped a nine-play, 42-yard drive that started with a 32-yard pass from Derek Carr to Chris Olave. Carr completed five more passes in the series, moving New Orleans another 51 yards down the field.

But with 0:58 seconds left, Atlanta had just enough time to drive from its 30-yard line for a game-winning field goal. The Falcons faced a 2nd and 10 after a false start penalty on center Ryan Neuzil, but then got the big play they needed with a pass interference call on Paulson Adebo. That resulted in a gain of 30 meters.

Atlanta tried to get closer, but after Kirk Cousins threw three straight incompletions, there was no choice but to attempt a long kick for the win. Koo made all four of his field goal attempts for all the points the Falcons offense could produce.

In total, Cousins threw for 238 yards on 21-of-35 passing with one interception. Drake London led the Falcons with 64 yards receiving on six receptions, joined by Darnell Mooney’s 56 yards on three catches. Tyler Allgeier rushed for 60 yards on eight carries.

Atlanta’s remaining 14 points came on turnovers.

The first occurred when Rashid Shaheed muffed a punt early in the first quarter. Shaheed bounced the ball off his facemask in an attempt to make an over-the-shoulder catch at the Saints’ three-yard line. He tried to retrieve the live ball in the end zone, but after a struggle, the Falcons’ KhaDarel Hodge recovered it for a touchdown.

Atlanta added a defensive score midway through the second quarter when Troy Andersen intercepted Carr at the Saints’ 47 for a pick 6 from 47 yards.

Carr completed 28 of 36 schemes for 239 yards and that interception. Olave finished with 87 yards on eight receptions, while Shaheed added 83 yards on eight more catches. Kamara rushed for 77 yards on 19 carries with a score, with Taysom Hill getting two touchdowns on his six carries.

Next up for the Falcons is another NFC South matchup against the first-place Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) on Thursday night. The Saints travel to Kansas City next Monday to take on the Chiefs.
