Notes and stats make up the Bucs 33-16 win over the Eagles

– The Buccaneers defeated the Eagles 33-16 to improve to 3-1 on the year. At 3-1, Tampa Bay owns sole possession of first place in the NFC South and has now held at least a share of the division lead in 47 of the past 55 weeks, dating back to Week 4 of the 2021 season.

– The Buccaneers improved to 6-1 in their last seven games against Philadelphia (including playoffs) dating back to the 2015 season, with a 4-1 mark against them in five games since the start of the 2021 season. last five games against the Eagles, Tampa Bay has averaged 358.6 net yards of offense per game. Tampa Bay has defeated Philadelphia by an average of 9.6 points per game in their last five meetings – the highest average point differential among any opponent they have played multiple times since the start of the 2021 season.

-Tampa Bay defeated Philadelphia 445-227 (+218). The yardage difference of +218 marked Tampa Bay’s 14e-the largest yardage margin in franchise history, and the largest since they edged the Miami Dolphins by 257 yards on October 10, 2021. The Buccaneers’ 445 net yards of offense marked the most since they generated 452 yards in a win over the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 17, 2023.

-Tampa Bay allowed just 227 net yards of offense, the fewest since allowing 201 in a win over the Carolina Panthers on Jan. 8, 2024. Tampa Bay also allowed just 114 net yards on Sunday, the fewest since allowing just 68 against the Carolina Panthers on January 8, 2024.

– Philadelphia’s 227 yards of offense was the fewest in a game since they recorded 213 net yards of offense on Oct. 14, 2021, including against Tampa Bay. Likewise, the Buccaneers surrendered just 114 net passing yards to Philadelphia on Sunday, the fewest the Eagles have recorded since posting 113 net passing yards against Tampa Bay on Oct. 14, 2021.

– The Eagles recorded zero net yards of offense in the first quarter of the game, marking the lowest offensive output by a Buccaneers opponent in the first quarter of a game since October 27, 2002, against the Carolina Panthers (-10).

– The Buccaneers defense generated 6.0 sacks on the day, tied for second in a game since the start of the 2020 season, and their highest total in a game since September 17, 2023 against Chicago (6.0).

-QB Baker Mayfield completed 30 of 47 passes (63.8%) for 347 yards and two passing touchdowns, with no interceptions, to earn a passer rating of 100.2. Mayfield also added four carries for 10 yards and one rushing touchdown. Through four games, Mayfield has completed 91 of 129 passes (70.5%) for 984 yards and eight passing touchdowns compared to two interceptions, good for a passer rating of 106.9. Going into Sunday’s games at 1 p.m., Mayfield’s 106.9 passer rating ranks fourth in the NFL, while his eight passing touchdowns rank second in the NFL.

-WR Mike Evans made a team-high eight receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown. With his touchdown reception, Evans surpassed Martín Gramatica (592) for the most points scored in franchise history. Evans becomes Tampa Bay’s leading scorer in franchise history and joins Hall of Famers Jerry Rice (SF) and Emmitt Smith (DAL) as the only non-kickers in NFL history to lead a franchise in points scored.

Evans’ touchdown catch was the 97e receiving a career-high touchdown, giving him sole possession of the 12e-most receiving touchdowns in NFL history. Additionally, Evans outscored Hall of Famers in today’s game Don Maynard (11,834) and Antonio Gates (11,841) for the 31st-most receiving yards in NFL history.

Evans also tied Mike Alstott (158) for the ninth most games played in club history.

-WR Chris Godwin finished with six receptions for 69 yards, eclipsing 7,000 career receiving yards and joining Mike Evans as the only players in franchise history to reach that milestone. Going into Sunday’s games at 1 p.m., Godwin ranks third in the NFL in receptions (27), fifth in receiving yards (322) and third in receiving touchdowns (3).

-RB Rachad White and R.B Bucky Irving each recorded 49 rushing yards on 10 carries, with White adding 35 receiving yards and Irving recording his first career rushing touchdown. As a team, Tampa Bay carried the ball 25 times for 111 yards (4.4 average) and two touchdowns.

-LB Lavonte David finished with a team-high eight tackles (two for loss), 2.0 sacks, one forced fumble, one pass defensed and one quarterback hit. With today’s performance, David surpassed 1,500 career tackles and became a Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks as the only players in team history to reach that milestone.

Davids two sacks increased his career total to 35.5, surpassing it Chidi Ahanotu and giving him sole possession of the seventh-highest in franchise history. Additionally, David noted his 30e career forced fumble in sunday’s game, tied with Khalil Mack (LAC) for most active players. His 30 career forced fumbles are the most of any inside linebacker in NFL history (since forced fumble data became available in 1994).

-NT Vita Vea recorded three tackles (two for loss), 1.0 sack and one tackle for loss in his first game back after missing time with an injury. His sack was his first of the season and increased his career total to 24.5 – the 14the-the most in franchise history.

-OLB Yes Diaby recorded strip sack Jalen Hurts for his first sack of the season, bringing his career sack total to 8.5.

-DL Logan Hall collected three tackles (one for loss), 1.0 sack and one pass defended. His sack was his first of the season and increased his career total to 4.0.

-OLB Anthony Nelson recorded Tampa Bay’s final sack of the day, dropping Jalen Hurts for a loss of seven yards. It was Nelson’s first sack of the season and it increased his career total to 15.5.

– CB Jamel Dean finished with five tackles and two passes defended. It was his 10e career game with multiple passes defended and his first since Oct. 26, 2023 in Buffalo.

-K Chase McLaughlin went 2-for-2 on field goal attempts in Sunday’s win, converting from 21 yards to 52 yards. Dating back to last season, McLaughlin made 25 straight field goals in the regular season.
