Jets QB returns against Vikings

play

The Jets brought their luggage to London, but could not leave the bad luck at home.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was injured in the third quarter of the New York-Minnesota London game and briefly left the field after an awkward hit. Rodgers appeared to injure his left leg, which folded under his body on a Vikings defender’s hit.

Rodgers would finish the game against Minnesota, but the Jets would ultimately lose, thanks in part to Rodgers’ three interceptions on the day. The final interception, thrown to Vikings cornerback Stephon Gilmore, proved to be the game-sealer.

By his own admission, Rodgers went into the Week 5 game somewhat frustrated. Unfortunately for the passerby, that trend seemed to continue in London.

Here’s the latest on Rodgers:

Aaron Rodgers injury update

After the game against the Vikings, Rodgers said he is dealing with a sprained ankle. That didn’t stop him from finishing the game, creating optimism about his availability in Week 6.

The Jets quarterback took a heavy hit that folded his left leg underneath him. He slowly got to his feet and clutched the back of his left leg, but would eventually leave the field and walk to the sideline under his own power.

Rodgers headed for the blue medical tent, but changed course and ended up back on the field after the kicker penalty extended the Jets’ drive.

Rodgers looked hobbled after his return, but still managed to orchestrate a scoring drive for the Jets that ended in a field goal.

After the drive, the veteran quarterback entered the blue medical tent for further evaluation.
