Detroit Tigers win first home game in ten years, fans around the world elated

DETROIT, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) – It was a big day in Detroit on Wednesday as the Tigers played their first home game in a decade and won.

The Tigers faithful made sure they showed up at Comerica Park.

“They did something really incredible that you don’t see very often. So besides, you just had to be here to see them for the first time in ten years, it’s a unique opportunity.”

The crowd was buzzing the entire match; getting up, twirling towels and making noise.

You could tell fans have been waiting ten years for this moment.

The intensity is great, the atmosphere is great, the fans are cheering, it’s just on another level.

And the fans knew this wasn’t just any match. This one was special.

It’s the Tigers’ first playoff game in a decade where we didn’t think we could just get into anything. We have to go all the way.

Tigers fans from northern Michigan knew they had to make the trip.

“I mean we are part of the statesman. This is our team, you know. So a lot of Traverse City people come to these games. You do the ride because it’s so important,” said Traverse City resident Mike Davis.

And for the series’ outcome against the Guardians, fans had the same sentiment.

Well, the Tigers are clearly going to win.

After the last playoff game in Detroit, Tigers fans had to wait ten years.

Less than 24 hours after this.

The Tigers host the Guardians in Game 4 on Thursday.
