The Seattle Seahawks will trade DK Metcalf to the Buffalo Bills

After starting 3-0, the Seattle Seahawks are now 3-3. They have a big crossroads ahead of them in determining what to do at their quarterback position, as it’s clear that Geno Smith is holding them back. They can go with Sam Howell to finish the season, but they also need to land first-round picks to ensure they get a young quarterback under center for the future. How they do this is by maneuvering at the trade deadline and trading DK Metcalf.

It’s clear that Metcalf is frustrated by the poor play of a quarterback like Smith, as evidenced by the weekly disgruntled looks on the sideline. Metcalf is a talented receiver who has accumulated 6,204 yards, an average of 14.6 yards per reception, and 50 touchdowns on 426 receptions. Metcalf can use his size to shut down defenders at the catch point, and despite being a bigger receiver, he can achieve separation with ease. With the emergence of Jaxon Smith-Njigba and still having Tyler Lockett, plus Jake Bobo, it would become a little easier to move on with Metcalf.

The team to initiate this trade should be the Buffalo Bills. While this would require multiple first- and second-round picks, plus perhaps a player like Von Miller, this is one that Buffalo needs to do. Despite Josh Allen being the quarterback who is good at elevating the talent around him, he can only do so much when the wide receivers struggle to be separated.

Keon Coleman, along with Khalil Shakir, struggle to separate, and instead rely on the two gaining yards after the catch. In order to fully develop these two, the Bills need to get a true top-level receiver to take the pressure off them, while also keeping the offense stable by beating that extra attention. Metcalf would be an ideal target for Allen with his size and athleticism, and this offense and playing with Allen would be ideal for Metcalf.
