Using Apple Wallet to store your digital concert tickets makes those tickets a lot more interesting and useful. Apple has made digital ticketing much more powerful, and concert and sports giant Ticketmaster is the first major company to show what it can do.

Like previous Apple Wallet innovations, this one comes to US iPhones first. But you can expect it to be rolled out more widely, especially from global companies like Ticketmaster. The new features require iOS 18 or later and will launch this month before rolling out to other regions in 2025.

Ticketmaster calls it an ‘experience’ rather than an e-ticket, and that’s fair: there’s a lot going on here.

What do Apple Wallet digital tickets offer?

In fact, Apple Wallet allows ticket sellers to provide an e-ticket which is also a handy little app – so if you’re traveling to a sporting event or concert it will tell you where to park or how to get there by train. what the weather will be like if it’s an outdoor event, and how to find the right part of the venue.

Additionally, the ticket can include a themed playlist to set the mood, and it can also provide quick access to location sharing features so you can find your friends before, during, or after the event.

Ticketmaster will use the new ticketing system in LA for the Los Angeles FC home game later this month, as shown in the image above. It’s coming to Miami later this year, and then to more events in 2025.

It’s an interesting use of technology, but it’s unclear how transferable these tickets will be if you decide you can’t go and want to pass your ticket on to someone else. Currently, e-tickets can only be transferred between two accounts in the Ticketmaster app, and only if Ticketmaster has enabled ticket transfer.
