Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Germany: lineups, team news, (many) injuries and more!

With Bayern Munich struggling, the international breakthrough may have come at the right time. Now fans can watch Germany suffer for a nice change.

Okay, maybe that’s a bit too negative: Germany is playing pretty good football these days. However, Julian Nagelsmann is facing a bit of an injury crisis, thanks to the absurd schedule these international players have to endure. It’s not exactly ideal if you’re only a few months into the new season.

Team news

Some of the key players from the first team are missing, but the highlights include Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, David Raum and more. Last time, kicker got the predicted lineups exactly right, so we’ll trust them again this time:

Some notes about the XI:

  • Serge Gnabry is about to make his return to Germany after almost a year out of the squad. He’s been in good form for Bayern this season, although his last few games haven’t exactly been great (which actually applies to the whole team).
  • That Nagelsmann still doesn’t want to start Aleksandar Pavlović is a bit strange, as he currently relies on a double defensive midfield with Robert Andrich and Pascal Groß. Germany could perhaps benefit from Pavlović taking over the role played by Toni Kroos at the European Championship, but the coach prefers a different approach at the moment.
  • Alexander Nübel will start for the national team in place of the injured Marc-Andre ter Stegen. If he ever really wants to be Manuel Neuer’s successor, he will have to impress at national level.
