Things got awkward and awkward on set NBA Gametime Live during a conversation between hosts Chris Miles and Sam Mitchell.

It started innocently enough. A photo was shown of Golden State Warriors stalwarts Draymond Green and Steph Curry with their old coach, Steve Kerr. Curry held his recently won gold medal, which he earned when he helped lead the Team USA men’s basketball team to victory at the Paris Olympics. While Curry had a gold medal, Kerr, who coached Team USA, did not. This is because coaches at the Olympic Games are not awarded medals won by the teams or athletes they coach. This applies to all sports.

“The coaches don’t get any medals,” Mitchell said. “I think it just tells you how international – how they value coaches. Not at all.”

“I’m surprised coaches get paid for this show,” Miles replied. ‘I think: maybe you should do this pro bonomy friend.”

“You know, the last time I looked at my check, it was pretty close,” Mitchell replied. “So hey, I’m taking donations.”

Then he turned his attention to Miles.

“Why don’t you get rid of some of that money you have? Since that’s what you’re bragging about,” Mitchell said.

“I don’t brag about it,” said a laughing Miles.

And then things took off.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Did you rent out your Florida beach house during the hurricane? Or should I move on? What about your mansion?”

“Hey, what’s going on here Sam?” Miles said, still laughing.

“You want to call me,” Mitchell replied. “I mean, come on. You scream, broke and hungry. Let’s just see. You know, I know what you got and where you live, young fella. So you have to stop.”

“I think there are tell-tale signs on the show today. His name is Sam Mitchell,” Miles replied.

‘No, we don’t have any snitches. We have truth tellers,” Mitchell said. “So you’re the one crying here poor and destitute, while… do I have to go on and on? Or do you want me to stop right now?’

“Should we go to this game between the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors?” Miles said.

“I already told you, young man, to stop bullying me on national television. I already told you about that. Hey, should I give you the address? Because you’re not home right now.’

Although Mitchell did not immediately share Miles’ address, he later did so.
