Fortnite update delay puts Halloween Fortnitemares event on hold

If you felt like jumping in Fortnites Fortnitemares event today you will be disappointed. Epic Games has announced that the massive v31.40 update, which includes the highly anticipated Halloween event, has been delayed by almost 24 hours so the studio can “continue final preparations.” The Fortnite update downtime was supposed to start on Friday, October 11 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST / 10am CEST, but “to ensure a pretty terrifying Fortnitemares” the downtime will now start later.

Fornite Fortnitemares downtime will now begin on Friday, October 11 at 11:00 PM PDT and Saturday, October 12 at 4:00 AM EDT / 9:00 AM BST / 10:00 AM CEST.

We expect the new Fortnite update to go live around two to three hours after the delayed downtime, so it’s likely we’ll get our hands on this spooky update around the clock. 2am PDT / 7am EDT / 12pm BST / 1pm CEST.

The Fortnitemares event certainly seems worth the wait – even if we don’t know many details about it yet. So far, leaks have claimed that there will be a number of new skins, including collabs with Disney franchises like The Nightmare Before Christmas, Disney Villains, and Edward Scissorhands.
