    The Illinois Fighting Illini outlasted the Purdue Boilermakers, 50-49, in overtime to win the Week 7 college football game at Memorial Stadium.

    Illinois (5-1) came off a bye week ranked No. 23 in both the USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll and the latest Associated Press national rankings.

    Purdue (1-5) gave Illinois all it could handle, rallying from a 27-3 deficit in the third quarter to force overtime.

    The Boilermakers need just two plays to score and get within 50-49. Purdue tried to win the game, but the two-point conversion failed. Ryan Browne fell back, backed down and was fired to end the threat.

    Fighting Illini kicker David Olano hits a 38-yard field goal to tie the game at 43-43 and send the game into overtime. The kick was set up by a big catch from Henk Beattie.

    After recovering the onside kick, Purdue drives down and Devin Mockobee catches the go-ahead touchdown on a throw from Ryan Browne.

    The Boilermakers recovered an onside kick and have the ball and all three timeouts.

    Devin Mockobee dives in from 2 yards out to pull the Boilermakers within five points with 95 seconds left. Purdue has all three timeouts left.

    Purdue has the ball with two minutes left and is in danger of getting within a score. Boiler manufacturers QB Ryan Browne has developed a solid drive and has Purdue as a threat. Brown has thrown for 238 of his 247 yards in the second half.

    The Fighting Illini answer back as Josh McCray scores his third touchdown of the day with 5:05 remaining. The TD was set up by another key run from Lucas Altmyer and a big third-down catch by McCray earlier in the drive.

    After a penalty, the Illini attempted a two-point conversion attempt from 18 yards, but the pass fell short.

    Ryan Browne finds Jaron Tibbs for an 8-yard touchdown to pull the Boilermakers within 34-26 – then adds the two-point conversion to pull within 34-28 at 10:35 of the fourth quarter.

    Quarterback Lucas Altmyer took matters into his own hands on this drive, rushing for a 13-yard touchdown to put the Fighting Illini back ahead with two touchdowns early in the fourth quarter. Altmyer also had runs of 22 and 37 yards on the drive to set up the TD.

    The Boilermakers used a flea flasher to create a 62 meter passing connection Ryan Browne until the end Max Readywhich was wide open after the double flea flicker.

    Purdue is eliminated inside the 10, but pulls within 27-20 after the 24-yard field goal from Spencer Porath.

    The Boilermakers are back in this game. Nyland Green Illinois QB fired Lucas Altmyerwhich picked up a fumble Will Held and returned 16 yards for a score. Illinois still leads 27-17, but is on the ropes for the first time today.

    Purdue scores its first touchdown in two weeks, getting a 53-yard reception by Jahmal Edrine, who dove to stretch for the TD in the final yards. The call was accepted after review by an official. This is the Boilermakers’ first TD since September 28 vs. Nebraska.

    David Olano extends the Fighting Illini lead to 27-3 with a 49-yard field goal into the wind that easily clears the uprights. Olano clenched his fist after the goal.

    Illinois scored twice in the last 90 seconds of play, this one being a short pass Lucas Altmyer Unpleasant Josh McCray with 19 seconds left in the second quarter. The five-play, 25-yard drive puts the Illini in control.

    Luke Altmyer finds Zakhari Franklin for a 27-yard pass on third-and-20 – and an incredible conversion – to cross into the Purdue 10 in the final minute of the first half.

    Illinois gets the ball back when the kickoff goes into the wind and is recovered by Luke Zardzin in an unexpected onside kick of sorts.

    Lucas Altymer fakes the handoff, rolls to the right and finds Zakhari Franklin for a wide-open touchdown at 1:56 before halftime – and Illinois has increased its lead.

    The Illini have four consecutive first downs and threaten to extend the lead before halftime, now inside the red zone.

    Dylan Rosiek makes a tackle in the open field to stop Purdue, which settled for a 22-yard field goal on a first-and-goal from the 4. The scoring was set up by a 34-run by Devin Mockobee, who Boilers brought in. the 5.

    Illini QB Lucas Altmyer threw for 111 yards in the first quarter, giving Illinois a 10-0 lead over Purdue. That’s a career high for Altmyer.

    Purdue is now 1-for-4 on third-down conversions, and Illinois forces another punt – this one returned 24 yards by the former Rochester High star Henk Beattie. If Illinois can score on this possession, it will take control of this game.

    QB Lucas Alymyer hits Pat Bryant for a 29-yard pass, then another 18-yard pass, and Illinois capped the drive with an 11-yard touchdown run for Josh McCray. Eight plays, 73 yards on the scoring drive, just before the quarter change.

    David Olano makes a 30-yard field goal to give the Illini a 3-0 lead with 6:04 remaining in the first quarter.

    Purdue turned the ball over on downs after eating nearly three minutes off the clock. Illinois takes over for the first time and we get a look at the Illini without running backs Kaden Feagin.

    Frank Williams is one of the headliners at the University of Illinois’ newest gymnasium, which was dedicated Friday during a ceremony at the State Farm Center. They are also expected to be introduced during the match today.

    Williams, an All-American guard from Peoria Manual, did not attend the ceremony but was praised for his role on some of the Illini’s best basketball teams. Read about his introduction here.

    Illinois running back Kaden Feagin was listed in the Big Ten Availability Report. The reason is not specified.

    Feagin leads Illinois with 306 yards and three touchdowns. Josh McCray And Aiden laugh should see more work against Purdue.
