Stats, highlights, draft prospects, NIL and more ahead of Week 7

It’s been a long time since the Ohio State Buckeyes backfield wasn’t graced by TreVeyon Henderson. As the Bucks and Henderson eye the College Football Playoffs in 2024, the legacy Henderson built in Columbus is still quite impressive.

When do TreVeyon Henderson and the Ohio State Buckeyes play in Week 7?

The Buckeyes make the trip west to take on the Oregon Ducks in a highly anticipated Week 7 matchup. Ohio State and Oregon battle at 7:30 PM ET from Autzen Stadium on Saturday, October 12.

Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson Stats, Height, Weight, Profile Details

At 6-foot-4 and 212 pounds, Henderson entered the Ohio State backfield with incredibly high expectations. And after a dominant, true freshman season, Henderson really hasn’t looked back with only Covid and minor injuries really slowing him down.

His true freshman season was one for the ages, as Henderson’s stats from that year are pretty ridiculous:

Carries: 183
Yards: 1,248
Average: 6.8
TD: 15

He added another 312 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Henderson tied Archie Griffin’s single-game rushing record with 277 yards in just his third game on the team. Now, four seasons later, Henderson has achieved the following career totals:

Carries: 488
Recruits: 3,085
Average: 6.3
TD: 36

Receptions: 56
Yards: 588
Average: 10.5
TD: 5

TreVeyon Henderson 247, High School Recruiting Profile

Henderson was a five-star recruit from southeastern Virginia. Coming from Hopewell High School outside Richmond, Henderson ran through defenders at will during his high school years.

A decorated multi-sport athlete, Henderson excelled on the track and field, where he was named Virginia’s Gatorade High School Player of the Year in 2019. Hopewell won the State Championship in 2019 with an undefeated record thanks to Henderson.

He was ranked as the No. 1 overall running back in the class of 2021 and the No. 1 player in the state. Overall, Henderson nearly made the top 10, finishing as the 11th best player nationally.

TreVeyon Henderson Player Comp

With a similar build, Henderson profiles best with recent players such as James Cook or Sony Michel. In reality, however, Henderson presents the skills of a player like Tevin Coleman, slightly smaller than Coleman at 6-foot-4.

Henderson has improved his track speed when he enters the open field, but needs to build that speed up. While not exactly the most nervous of backs, his vision, burst and power through contact, as well as his receiving ability, are more reminiscent of Coleman than any other back.

How fast does TreVeyon Henderson run 40?

Henderson has reportedly been clocked in the 4.39 range for the 40-yard dash. More than likely, though, that’s a projection, but that’s no indictment of his sprinting ability.

In high school, Henderson ran the 100-meter dash with a personal best of 10.59. Last season he was also clocked in AI tracking reaching more than 35 kilometers per hour.

A safe estimate of his projected 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine should be in the low 4.4 seconds.

Where will TreVeyon Henderson be selected in the 2025 NFL Mock Drafts?

Currently, with running backs being valued outside of the first round and with Henderson’s injury history, it’s likely you won’t see him mocked in the first round very often. That’s not an indictment of his talent, though, as Henderson is at least a first-round talent when healthy.

He is currently ranked No. 29 in the College Football Network Mock Draft Simulator and third at running back, behind teammate Quinshon Judkins.
