CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Monday is Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples Day, and the federal holiday means a day off for many.

Most major banks will take the day off, but mobile and online options should still work. The stock markets remain open on Monday.

USPS mail services will be shut down, as will government and state facilities like the RMV, courts, and of course public schools.

Many shops or eateries remain open and ready for shoppers on their day off. The PVTA will operate a limited number of services on weekdays.
