LONDON – The Bears are in need of their emergency long snapper – tight end Cole Kmet – after Scott Daly hurt his knee on a punt in the first quarter on Sunday.

Daly spent several minutes on the ground before walking gingerly to the sideline, where he was assessed in the blue medical tent and quickly ruled out with a knee injury.

Teams will carry no more than one long snapper. The Bears turned to their emergency long snapper, starting tight end Cole Kmet. He snapped for the first time in the NFL after also scoring a touchdown. In the second quarter, he caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Caleb Williams, stayed on the field and snapped the ball for an extra point.

Daly has been the Bears’ long snapper all season after Patrick Scales, their regular at the position, had to undergo back surgery during training camp. The Bears have a bye after the Jaguars game – and time to figure out what to do next.
