Commanders Coach Details Favorite play of the season

There was a lot to like about the Washington Commanders at the start of the 2024 NFL season. They are 4-1 after five games. They have matched their win total from the entire 2023 season. What they have been able to achieve is incredible.

There have been plenty of defining moments along the way. The rushing attack behind Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson Jr. was strong. The arrival of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels was loud. The defense has stepped up and supported an incredible offense.

However, one of the most impressive aspects of the rapid reconstruction is the culture that has emerged. This team plays with a fiery attitude and plays winning football. Commanders head coach Dan Quinn’s favorite play of the season so far was a fumble recovery.

“My favorite play of the game was probably a fumble by (WR) Olamide Zacchaeus. And the reason why I felt the tension and the energy for them after Austin’s long run was because OZ was actually moving through the formation. But his ability to try to get down the field and get a block really speaks to how hard these guys go for each other,” Quinn explained. “And you’ve heard me talk a lot about playing style and identity, and that sums up the game, not the clumsy stuff. Believe me, I don’t want to talk about that part, but that part summed up the effort and effort. I’d like you to watch it and see how far OZ ran to get to that part because it really showed how fast you have to go.

Winning requires all 11 players on the football field at one time. Offensive, defensive or special teams, everyone must come together to play winning football. In five games, Washington has done just that.

The Commanders are here to stay, and they will be one of the most intriguing teams to watch as the season progresses.
