The Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys will face off for the third time in three seasons. The previous two have gone the way of the Cowboys, in fact the last one six of those games have resulted in Dallas wins, but through five weeks the Lions look like the stronger team.

Detroit is strengthened by a strong running game and excellent play action. Defensively, they remain strong against the run, and have seen some improvement in the secondary.

The Cowboys, on the other hand, have really struggled to run the ball and stop them, although both units have had some success over the last two weeks. Dak Prescott remains a serious threat, especially when targeting All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb.

This is the part of the article where I’m obliged to bring up how the last match ended. Taylor Decker, Dan Skipper, reporting, blah, blah, blah. It’s a new year, a new team and a new opportunity for the Lions to get this damn Cowboys monkey off their back.
