Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh briefly leaves the Broncos game due to illness

DENVER – Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh left in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with an illness, according to the team.

The team said it was doubtful Harbaugh would return to the game, and a short time later he was back on the sidelines.

Defensive coordinator Jesse Minter was the team’s interim head coach.

Harbaugh first went to the team’s medical tent before walking into the locker room with trainers.

With Harbaugh out, Chargers safety Elijah Molden made an interception, and kicker Cameron Dicker made a field goal on the team’s first offensive drive to give the Chargers a 3–0 lead.
