The Carolina Panthers will have to dig deep from the edge this afternoon.

As expected, starting outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney will not suit up for Sunday’s divisional game against the visiting Atlanta Falcons. Clowney, who suffered a shoulder injury in the Week 5 loss to the Chicago Bears, did not participate in practice all week and was listed as questionable for the game.

To help with the position, the Panthers added seventh-year pass rusher Marquis Haynes Sr. on Saturday. to the active selection. Haynes Sr. after spending his first six seasons in Carolina, rejoined the organization on October 4 as a member of the practice squad.

Along with Clowney, the Panthers will also be without three more starters: Tommy Tremble, inside linebacker Josey Jewell and right tackle Taylor Moton, who will miss the very first game of his NFL career.
